Roles & Responsibilities:
• We are seeking a hands-on System Administrator to operate and continuously improve a
network-heavy, service-provider–style infrastructure comprising servers, virtualization,
monitoring systems, and security controls.
• The role requires breadth across technologies, a strong monitoring and observability
mindset, and operational support for ISO 27001 / ISO 9001 audits. Prior ISP experience is
not mandatory; however, comfort operating systems that are network-adjacent is
essential
• Administer and maintain Linux and Windows servers, virtualization platforms, and
storage in a high-availability environment
• Support and operate network-integrated and network-adjacent systems in
coordination with NOC, L2, and L3 teams
• Perform capacity planning, performance analysis, and proactive risk identification.
• Participate in change planning, risk assessment, and post-change validation for
infrastructure modifications.
• Operate and enhance infrastructure monitoring and observability systems
• Work with SNMP-based monitoring, including polling, traps, thresholds, and alert
tuning.
• Analyze system and network telemetry (CPU, memory, disk, interface utilization,
latency, packet loss)
• Correlate alerts, logs, and performance metrics to identify root causes and reduce
repeat incidents
• Identify monitoring blind spots and recommend improvements to increase visibility
and resilience
• Support ISO 27001 / ISO 9001 audits through:
o Operational control execution
o Evidence preparation (logs, backups, access reviews, patch records)
o Remediation of audit findings and non-conformities (NCs)
• Execute and review security scans, antivirus/EDR logs, and patching outcomes.
• Evaluate, test, and improve infrastructure tools (monitoring, logging, backup, asset,
patching).
• Build and maintain test or lab environments to evaluate new tools or configurations
prior to production rollout.
• Implement scripting and automation to improve reliability, efficiency, and reporting.
• Maintain SOPs, diagrams, and audit-ready documentation.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across server, network, and monitoring layers.
• Coordinate with OEMs and third-party vendors for fault resolution as per agreed
SLAs.
• Participate in on-call or after-hours support as part of a 24×7 operations model, as
required.
Skills and Qualifications:
• 6 years of system administration experience in network-heavy or service-provider-style environments
• Strong Linux administration skills; working knowledge of Windows Server
• Hands-on experience with NMS platforms using SNMP, ICMP, Syslog, and API
• Solid understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing concepts, latency,
packet loss)
• Exposure to security operations and audit evidence handling
• Experience with scripting or automation (Bash, Python, PowerShell)
• Exposure to or understanding of network-adjacent systems such as:
o DNS services
o Authentication / Authorization platforms (AAA)
o Logging or traffic-facing infrastructure
• Prior participation in infrastructure or security audits
• Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) / Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)
• Monitoring coverage and alert quality
• Reduction in repeat incidents
• Audit NC closure within defined timelines
• Accuracy and timeliness of operational reporting
